Sen. Mark Warner and Sen. Tim Caine serve as senators in the commonwealth of Virginia. Both are Democrats with Warner serving the longest, his term began in Jan. 2009 when he was elected in 2008. Warner is up for reelection in Nov. 2020.

Warner’s political ideology is considered moderate. According to Govtrack, Warner was ranked eighth most conservative compared to other Senate Democrats. Warner has also cosponsored the 11th most bipartisan bills during his service.

Sen. Warner has introduced three bills that become law and introduced 39 bills in 2019. Overall his activity in the Senate is reserved compared to some of his party counterparts.

According to his official website, Warner is a bipartisan Senator that has worked across party lines to streamline governmental services. The senator is proclaimed to be pro-veteran and seeking to address the national debt.

Sen. Warner was the first member of his family to graduate college and spent 20 years as a business leader before deciding to run for office. Warren, who was born in 1954, graduated George Washington University with a degree in political science. Harvard law school was next on the docket, from which Warren graduated in 1980.

Warner’s website offers a look at a number of his priorities which include, environment, immigration and national security. Also on the list is the Russian Investigation, that apparently has not been updated to provide the latest findings.

On his campaign website, Warner claims Trump is “targeting Virginia” and Warner will fight to keep the state blue. Democrat voters that flipped the state Senate and House last year seem to agree with Warner, but many of Virginia’s rural voters are not on board with assertion.
