Transparency is Key in This Vice Presidential Debate

With uncertainties surrounding the age and health of both presidential candidates, this vice presidential debates needs to offer the American people a clear portrayal of political ideas. According to The Federalist, this debate marks a crucial time in American politics and both candidates should be forthcoming with their views for the country. Vice President Pence and Sen. Harris should speak openly in the debate and let the American people decide the outcome.

Pence to Allow Plexiglass Barriers at Debate

After a back and forth discussion prior to the debate, Vice President Pence has ceded to allow Plexiglass barriers between himself and Sen. Harris. The demands for protection come after President Trump tested positive for coronavirus, and recovered in three days despite his “concerning age and obesity”. The Pence team ultimately conceded, citing Sen. Harris desire for safety.

President Trump Rejects Push for Virtual Debate

To the chagrin of Democrats, President Trump has said he would not participate in a virtual debate. According to the Washington Post, the decision made by a recovering Trump, could change the date of the second presidential debate.
